Guidelines for photo submissions | story submissions.

Important:

• Solo male photos, without any of your female significant other, probably will not be posted unless you literally impress the pants off our female judge - and Scarlett is pretty tough.
• No minors, violence or weird stuff (just so you know: potty games (even pictures of pretty women merely sitting on the throne are not very flattering), fisting, nuts, fruits, vegetables, animals or any other weirdness we haven't even thought of) or photos you or someone else stole from a newsgroup.  No commercial photos will be accepted.  Remember, this is a couple-friendly web site. 
• By submitting, you agree to give SpiceShots.net a license to use your copyrighted material on this web site at our discretion.  You retain the copyright for the images.  We will stamp them "SpiceShots.net Member Submission" in an effort to deter image theft of your copyrighted material from this site.

More legal advice - Please be sure that the material you send is yours (you or your significant other took the pictures), or legitimate amateur work and not someone else's professional work.  You must be fully aware that by sending us your material through the e-mail, you are releasing us from any legal ramifications that may arise from the public display of the images in question.  We do not accept any material which shows persons under 18 years old or images of persons who look like they are younger than 18 years old.  We reserve the right to decline, remove or even pixelate submitted photos as we see fit without any further explanation or notification. 

Free Membership and Monthly Contest Rules
To receive a free one-month membership to SpiceShots.net here's what you have to do:

• Submit 30+ acceptable quality photos, along with the age of models if he/she/they appears close to 18.  If it's okay with you, please indicate the state where the photographs were taken and and the first names of those pictured (pseudonyms okay). If there is a story behind the pictures, please include that!  Photos that meet the above listed criteria AND that are posted will earn you a free month's membership.  
• You will be notified via email if your submission has been posted.  No email (unless you've got your spam filter set too high) = not posted.  You will also be notified via email if your submission has been selected as the winner.
• Your information will be strictly confidential and you will not be added to our fan club mailing list or sold or given to anyone.
• Once again we reserve the right to decline to post any submitted photos without notification.
• Only one "free membership" per month will be awarded to any single individual or couple.

To be entered into the monthly contest, your submission must contain at least 10 acceptable quality photos (send 15-20 if you have any doubts) and be posted.  Up to three entries per month may be entered (regardless if the contest term runs long) from any individual/couple.

• Monthly prizes are contingent on a minimum of twenty-five accepted submissions in any given month.  If we don't receive an acceptable number of submissions, we will hold the contest term over until they have been accepted and posted.  Limit of three contest submissions per couple / female in any given month.

Increase your chances of winning:

• Good photos (sharp images, in focus and decently exposed, showing both wide and tight shots) are a must.  Background information or stories accompanying the photos or the participants is a big plus.  Attractive women / couples are a plus.  Fair notice:  our judges (our photographers and our staff) have an affinity for the following -- photos accompanied by a story or information about the participants (where have we heard that before?), candid shots of the participants dressed, smiles, faces, pretty eyes, money shots (anywhere, including cream pies), groups, foreplay shots, girl-girl, oral sex, manual stimulation (hand-jobs and fingering), quality voyeur shots (please, nothing illegal), and tasteful sexual intercourse photos (!!)..  We don't like:  crotch-only shots (male or female) or really, really fugly people. 

Here's what we're looking for in submitted stories:
We are looking for couple-friendly erotic stories of between 500-1200 words each.  True stories are encouraged, although erotic fiction is just fine.

Important:

• Please include your name and email address with your submission.
• Please proof your work for basic grammar and spelling mistakes.  We don't want to spend a lot of time correcting senseless errors for you.  We'll correct a few mistakes.  Major problems?  We'll email you asking you to revise your story then to resubmit it.
• Like photos above, please no stories involving minors and adults (stories about your experiences with others of your age in high school are okay), potty games, violence, bestiality, necrophilia, fruits, vegetables or any other weirdness.  If in doubt, don't send it.
• Illustrations are encouraged, but not required.  (Are you writing about an old girlfriend or a location?  Got a picture (dressed or otherwise), send a photo...  it doesn't have to be big.)  Photo rules above about off-limits categories of pictures apply.
• We will decline stories that go on and on describing the male sex organ will be declined.  We (the owners of SpiceShots) don't care about details regarding how the sun glistened off his rock hard shaft (blah, blah, blah).  Instead of spending paragraphs detailing sex organs (male and female), we prefer "softer" descriptions of touch, sounds, feelings, surroundings and so forth.
• By submitting, you agree to give SpiceShots.net a license to use your copyrighted material on this web site at our discretion.  You retain the copyright for the story.  

Monthly contests
Each month, beginning in October 2004, providing we have at least twenty-five entries, we will award $100 to the best story as judged by our panel.

• You will be notified via email if your submission has been posted.  No email (unless you've got your spam filter set too high) = not posted.  You will also be notified via email if your submission has been selected as the winner.
• Your last name & email will be strictly confidential and you will not be added to our fan club mailing list or sold or given to anyone.
• Monthly prizes are contingent on a minimum of twenty-five accepted submissions in any given month.  If we don't receive an acceptable number of submissions, we will hold the contest term over until they have been accepted and posted.  Limit of three contest submissions per writer in any given month.
• Once again we reserve the right to decline to post any submitted stories without notification.

Quick summary of the rules again:

1. This should be your photos - you or your significant other or friend took them.  No commercial material!

2. Nothing illegal.  No underage individuals in photos.  No violence.  No animals, potty games or vegetables.

3. Stories should be from 500 - 3000 words (1000-2000 optimal).  Illustrations / photos encouraged!  No plagiarizing!

4. Photos should be good quality, 640x480 pixels minimum, 1Mb per picture maximum (use .jpg compression) (read on for tips and tricks). 

5. Groin-only submissions will be declined.  Show some facial detail (we can pixelate if you wish.  If you don't know how, include it in your note and we'll do it), show both dressed candid photos as well as semi-dressed and nudes if you have them.  Include some details about what's happening, who's pictured, and so on.

 

To submit your photos all you need to do is follow the next few steps:
a) Scan the pictures into your computer. If they are on video tape, use a capture device to convert them into digital stills or digital video - or better yet use a digital camera to take them in the first place.
b) Compress the images in .JPG format using an image editor.
c) Email your photos (please include some comments/background story/where you live/name of your model(s) or nickname of your model(s) would be great!) to this email address:

d) Your email address will not be used by us for any other reason than to inform you about winning a prize and to confirm your entry.

FAQs

How do I convert to jpg-format?
Most graphics / photo software will let you "save as".  Look for a "file type" option and select .jpg or .jpeg.  If you do not have a jpg converter, you need to get one for your platform. Go to a search engine and type in "jpg converter" and you will find free software, regardless of your platform (Mac, Windows, etc).

What file size and resolution should I use:
900x1200 or 1200x1600 with file sizes of 250-350Kb per photo is about optimum (72dpi).  Please use a maximum of 3200 pixels for the largest side of your photo (height or width).  Please use higher image quality (high quality means low compression) JPG compression.  The bigger the files are you email us, the better they will look on our website.  So long as each photo is less than 1Mb, we're happy (and you'll be happier with faster upload times!!).  640x480 is the minimum size we want to receive and 250-350Kb per photo is a good size to send us.

What about digital cameras?
The higher the resolution, the better the results. Try to set your cam to "LESS photos, BETTER resolution, LESS compression".

What's up with .jpg compression?
Compression destroys the quality of your photos.  Some compression is hardly noticeable.  Too much leaves the photo looking horrible.  Use following rule of thumb: "The smaller the file size, the poorer the photo quality."

Should I zip my images?
You can do so to keep things neat and tidy for us (which is always appreciated).  It will not make your transmission faster, because jpg is already compressed and compressing it again will not save much space. 

What about Mime, binhex or uu? My email client asks for that!
Choose MIME. Please do not use binhex

How many pictures should I send?
The more the merrier!  You may break up your photos in several emails for the same submission. 

• You need a minimum of 10 acceptable quality photos in a single submission to be eligible for the monthly contest.  Submit 15 or more to be on the safe side.

• You need a minimum of 30 acceptable quality photos in a single submission to receive a free month's membership to SpiceShots.net (our way of saying thanks for going above and beyond a simple contest entry).  Submit 35 or more to be sure.  

• Don't steal someone else's work.  If we suspect fraud, we'll decline your post.  If we accept the post and find out later it belongs to someone else, you will be banned from future posts and your complimentary membership revoked!

What about my copyrights?
You retain the copyright for your photos.  By submitting your photos, you give us the right to post them on our website. We stamp the photos to discourage image theft.
